This is an introduction to media studies which will include screening of a film, still image analysis: denotation and cannotation; codes - visual (pictorial, graphic and presentation) and aural (vocal,music and sound effects (mise-en-scene; lighting, colour or black and white; use of camera; genre; gender; marketing, audience and distribution; narritive theory; representation and ideaology.
